Saturday April 10th
Judging of entries for the Nebraska club competition starts at 5pm, with meeting at 6pm.
Location is 1601 SW 50th St., off of West A St.
Please bring appetizers or finger foods for munching on while we meet.

Don’t forget! This will be the time to judge the beers for the Nebraska Shoot Out. Bring two bottles to the meeting. The best of each division moves on to the finale on April 24th at the Brick Top!

We will be holding our March meeting at Bricktop where we can all down our desired delight from their deck of dozens of delicious drinks.  The meeting will be held Wednesday, yes, Wednesday, March 3rd.

We’ll start at 7pm. We need to wrap up our club business before 10pm, but everyone is welcome to stay as long as they would like after the meeting since Bricktop does not close until 1am.

Stay tuned for any new information.

One of our Lagers members,500ml Pyrex beaker of stout Erik Newgard, is looking for people willing to be trained as an American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC) Tasting Panel. His goal is a reliable tasting group of 20-30 individuals. Hopefully this experiment will provide some valuable experience that will improve all of our abilities to taste qualitatively and quantitatively.

Initial time commitment is a few hours in February for screening, and a couple of hours in Mid-March. (Ideally, the members of this panel might be available on a semi-permanent basis for more scientific tastings in the future, so that a new panel does not need to be re-created every time.) For more information, visit This Thread In The Members Only Forum – or if you cannot access that thread, you can send Erik a PM. Deadline is approximately Feb 12th.

Tickets in advance are $25; at the door $30 (*must be 21 years of age to purchase tickets or attend the event).

Our brew club – the Lincoln Lagers – will have home-brew at this event. Several area microbreweries and distributors will be there. Last year there was an estimated 150 different beers available for sampling. There were also about a dozen or so restaurants in attendance. Your entry fee gets you the brew and food… as much as you can eat and drink. There are also other commercial booths, a silent auction, and some live music.

If you need an event ticket, talk to Kim T! You can send him a message here if you are a registered forum member!
