Tim T Pumpkin Beer Quest WinnerThe results are in – Tim Thomssen has succeeded in his quest to net back-to-back High Plains Brewer Of The Year awards, bringing home the bacon in both 2013 and 2014! Congratulations, dude, on a job REALLY well done!

Thanks to Tim’s efforts and also thanks to a few other Lincoln Lagers members who diligently shipped entries across the Midwest to competitions throughout 2014, the Lincoln Lagers Homebrew Club are the proud recipients of the 2014 High Plains Club Of The Year award, as well!!

For full standings, visit the official High Plains Brewer site at:
http://www.kcbiermeisters.org/competitions/high-plains-award.html

The Lagers hope to repeat this feat in 2015, but it’s going to take the efforts of each and every one of you brewers to pull this off!! — Please follow us on our new Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/lincolnlagers where we’ll be posting alerts throughout the year, keeping you up to date on all the High Plains and MWHBOTY competitions that will help us bring home the gold all over again! (For those of you already joined on our Facebook Group: We’re not going anywhere! Daily chit chat, etc. can still go on the Group — we will be using the Page as more of a streamlined news feed for competitions, contests, current events and anything else hop-pening around town.)

Tim racked up an impressive 49 Medals in 2014, and holds a 34% win ratio in the MWHBOTY circuit. For more detailed scoring results from last year’s contest, look here.
Although finalized results are not yet available, we’ve heard rumors that Tim also won the 2014 High Plains Brewer Of The Year award — we’ll post an update as soon as we hear more!

lincoln lagers, screen ink, t-shirt, tees, homebrew, home brew club, lincoln, nebraskaFellow Club Members!

I’m wrapping up the order for our 2012 member tees and need your sizes. If you have already contacted me with your shirt size, please disregard this post. If you have not contacted me with your shirt size, simply leave a comment on this post with your full name and shirt size. If you’d prefer not share this information with the world there is also a thread on the forum to submit this information. You can also email us here at Screen Ink headquarters (shout(at)screenink.com).

This is a 100% cotton vintage black tee from JAmerica. A step up from our typical shirt brand for club tees. Typically these tees are pre-shrunk but no one in the world can predict how you launder your clothing so plan accordingly.

We’ll try to have some samples of this shirt on hand at the next meeting if you want to do something awkward like try one on or something of that nature.

May Meeting: Bob’s Place, May 1st

The Lagers’ May meeting will be a springtime Pot-Luck dinner at Mailman Bob’s place. We’ll kick off around 6pm on Saturday, May 1st. Bring your favorite dish to share!
Location is at 6220 South 53rd St. – That’s just past 56th & Old Cheney Rd, for any of you (and me) who aren’t from the south side of town. Exact directions and a map are posted in the Forum Thread and more updates will be posted there too once they’re available, so watch there for updates!

Nebraska Shootout Judging: April 24th

Judging is taking place this Saturday, April 24th, at Bricktop, 1427 O Street, in downtown Lincoln (Next door to Yia Yia’s pizza).
Start: 1pm to allow more time to the clubs who have a long journey
Finish: around 5pm. All the clubs are bringing as many members as can make it, along with a dish for the potluck.
There should be plenty of street parking at meters around the event, but please note that they do ticket on Saturdays. There is a parking garage located on the corner of 14th & P Street that would allow you to park and forget about it.

A big welcome to all of our zymurgists coming in from across the state! We’re happy to have the following clubs participating in this year’s Nebraska Shootout: South Omaha Brewers, OmaHops, and Railroaders Brew Club all of Omaha NE, Kearney Area Brewers of Kearney NE, and the Motley Brew Crew of Broken Bow NE.

Mark B.’s Porter heading to Minnesota

Lincoln Lagers member Mark B. rose above a number of strong entries in the Porter category, and won second place in the Midwest regional NHC judging. His Porter is advancing to the main event at the National Homebrewers Conference in Minneapolis in June 2010.
Congratulations Mark!

If you are a bit confused by the domain name, don’t worry. www.LethalAndYoung.net is one of my spare domain names, which I used for setting up the server space and testing the new design. As we iron out the details in transitioning the web site to its new home, you should see the test domain name disappear from most places.

Once the transition is complete, everything will once again refer to www.LincolnLagers.com. In the meantime, thanks for being patient with us during construction, and a BIG thanks to Brian Allison for all of his help behind-the-scenes in transferring the site over.

Have you RDWHAHB’ed yet today? :)

Cheers,
Chriso
