Lincoln Lagers Internal Judging for the Nebraska Shootout: Sunday, July 7, 2024 – Location: Turbine Flats

Brewers and Judges! Join us at Turbine Flats (2124 Y Street, Lincoln, NE) next Sunday, July 11, at 3:00 p.m. for the club’s internal judging for the Nebraska Shootout (related information below). Bring at least one bottle for each entry. (Styles listed below.). If your beer is selected, you’ll need to have two 12-ounce bottles for the actual Shootout on July 21. More bottle details to come soon. If you can’t make it to Sunday’s judging and you want to enter, contact a club officer or post on Facebook and we’ll make arrangements to get your beer into the contest.

Next Monthly Meeting: Thursday, July 11, 2024 – Location: White Elm Brewing

Join us at White Elm Brewing (720 Van Dorn Street, Lincoln, NE) next Thursday, July 11, at 6:00 p.m. for the social hour and club business at 7:00 p.m. Sample some White Elm beer. Bring some homebrew with you. We’ll talk about the Nebraska Shootout and other beery stuff. As always, new brewers are welcome! Cheers!

Nebraska Shootout 2024 • Sunday, July 21 • 9:00 a.m.

The annual Nebraska homebrew club competition is scheduled for Sunday, July 21, at Lucky Bucket Brewing Co. in La Vista. Omaha’s Homebrewers Local 402 are this year’s hosting club. Internal club judging for the Shootout will take place on July 7 at Turbine Flats from 3-6 p.m.

Here are the categories and timeline for this year’s competition:

Pale Malty European Lager (Category 4)
Amber Malty European Lager (Category 6)
Dark European Lager (Category 8)
Pale Commonwealth (Category 12)
Specialty Category – BJCP Local Styles (Provisional Style)
Best Damn Beer (Custom Style)
