2024 Sower’s Cup Post-Judging Events & Awards Ceremony

After the final rounds and best-of-show judging are in the books, you’ll want to stick around for the Sower’s Pup (details below) and the Sower’s Cup awards ceremony. We’ll also have two food trucks available for dinner: Meta Modern BBQ offers “traditional, live-fire barbecue, combined with modern culinary techniques and diverse cultural influences,” and our other option is Rutabagas: “Lincoln’s favorite vegan comfort food.” Something tasty for everybody!

The Sower’s Pup! A Benefit for The Farm: Senior Dog Sanctuary

Join us for a fun-filled evening of tasting various craft beers at the IBEW Local 265, on Saturday, Sept. 28, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Whether you’re a beer connoisseur or just looking to have a good time, this event is perfect for you. The Sower’s Cup is judging 402 entries (two bottles each) from homebrewers around the country. Of these entries, only the winner of each of the 30 categories will have their second bottles move on to the Best-of-Show round. That leaves us with a lot — about 270 — of competition-level bottles of craft beer, cider and mead!

This year the Lincoln Lagers Homebrew Club decided that the best use of those leftovers would be to partner with a local nonprofit and invite the public to join us in sampling this incredible range of tasty beverages. We are happy to be working with funds for The Farm: Senior Dog Sanctuary. All proceeds of this event will go directly to The Farm, helping them to maintain a peaceful, joyful and loving “forever home” for senior dogs.
