We will provide feedback using standard written BJCP Scoresheets, not the NHC checkbox sheets.

The winner will receive a specially designed and crafted trophy made just for our competition.

Moonstruck Meadery Best Of Show in Mead:

The winner will receive a specially designed and crafted trophy made just for our competition.

Brickway Brewery & Distillery Special Style Category: “Sower In The Rye”

This special contest changes each year based on input from our club members. The 2015 special style category is “Sower In The Rye” – any and all beers containing Rye are eligible. (Including, but not limited to: malted rye, flaked rye, unmalted rye, rye bread, etc.) Judges are instructed to look for “evident, significant or substantial” rye character in each entry, but Sower In The Rye entries will also be judged by the quality of overall beer presented as well.

The “Sower In The Rye” category is not eligible for the overall Best Of Show contest, but the winning beer in this category will receive a special award commemorating their achievement.

“No Workaround Decoction” GABF Pro-Am Competition

This year, we’ve upped the ante with a special addition to our contests: Announcing our inaugural GABF Pro-Am Competition!

Ploughshare Brewing Company will be hosting a category called “No Workaround Decoction”.

For more information, visit the GABF Pro-Am Competition page.

Special Guest Speaker:

We are proud to host, with the generous assistance of Matt Stinchfield and Ploughshare Brewing Co., our special guest speaker…

Guest-Drew-Beechum-promo.fw
Author and homebrewing legend, Drew Beechum!

As BYO Magazine puts it, “Drew has been brewing since 1999 and is a past president of the Maltose Falcons. He serves on the American Homebrewer’s Association Governing Committee and has authored four books (Everything Homebrewing, Homebrewers Journal, Everything Hard Cider, Experimental Homebrewing) and regularly writes for Zymurgy and BeerAdvocate and other magazines. His favorite beer style is Saison. He sees nothing wrong with driving Denny Conn crazy with recipes like Saison Guacamole or White Stout.”

The Sower’s Cup Grand Banquet Dinner presented by American Brewing Equipment:

The Banquet Dinner will be held on Saturday late afternoon/early evening, after Best Of Show and prior to the Awards Ceremony. It will be a ticketed event with limited seats available. More details to come later this summer… please, stay tuned!

Alpha Brewing Operations & Kitchen Sink Cookie Co. Beer and Cookie Pairing:

That’s right, you heard us. Beer paired with hand-crafted gourmet cookies made from carefully selected ingredients.

No matter what kind of cookie you grew up eating, Kitchen Sink has one that will scratch your deepest, darkest cookie cravings and – just maybe – leave you hopelessly addicted, just like our friend the Cookie Monster is.

Can’t stand to wait until October to dig in? Then go get some cookies now!

The Sower’s Cup Awards Ceremony presented by American Brewing Equipment:

After the banquet dinner concludes, we will wrap up the week by announcing winners at the Sower’s Cup Awards Ceremony and Grand Prize raffle drawings, to be held in the brewery area from 7:30pm-10:00pm.
All Sower’s Cup volunteers, stewards, judges, Lincoln Lagers club members, competition entrants, and delegates from other Nebraska homebrew clubs are all invited to attend the ceremony.

We’ll announce the winners of each category, as well as our Best Of Show winners. Results will be live-tweeted on Twitter via @TheSowersCup for those following us from afar. We will draw winners for our Probably Slightly Less Boring Than Working Grand Prize Raffle items, including generous contributions from our sponsors.
