The Next Lincoln Lagers Monthly Meeting: Thursday, Oct. 3, Code Beer Co.

Join us at Code Beer Co. (200 S. Antelope Valley Pkwy, Lincoln, NE) this coming Thursday, Octobeer 3, at 6:00 p.m. Come for the social hour and stay for club business and more beer at 7:00 p.m. Sample some tasty Code beer along with homebrew. We’ll talk about the 2024 Sower’s Cup and other beery stuff. As always, new brewers are welcome! Cheers!

The Sower’s Cup! Link to the Medal Winners! Thanks to All!

We had a fun-filled week of beer judging and charitable giving and wonderful, wonderful beer at the tenth annual Sower’s Cup! This year saw 400 entries from 88 entrants. We tested the palates of 45 judges and placed 94 entries. Three breweries will be doing scale-ups from this year’s medal winners: Boiler Brewing (Kim Theesen, Historical Beer), Corn Coast (Nick Langtry, IPA) and Stone Hollow (Deborah & Marc Prichard, Cider with Herbs/Spices). Long-time Lincoln Lager Doug Finke won the Lincoln Lagers’ Legend award. (More info coming soon on Doug!).

In addition, this year we found a creative way to share the extra bottles of home brew. We created the Sower’s Pup! We invited the general public to attend after the judging was all done. All proceeds — over $1500! — went to The Farm: Senior Dog Sanctuary. Food was available from Meta Modern and Rutabagas.
