November Club Meeting

November Learn To Homebrew Day / Social Meet-Up

This year’s annual AHA Learn To Homebrew Day falls on Saturday, November 4th – Join us between 11AM-4PM at Turbine Flats (2124 Y Street).

This is a combined monthly Social Meet Up and our annual brewing demonstration event. Visit our Facebook event for more info.

December Club Meeting

Join us at Lee’s Chicken on the evening of Thursday, December 7th for our annual finger-lickin’ fried-chicken club meeting. (Tradition is tradition!)

Homebrew is welcome (in the Meeting Room only – Do not carry it out into the rest of the establishment, please!).

September Club Meeting

Our September 2017 club meeting will be held at Trent & Jennifer Konecky’s house on Wednesday, September 6th at 6PM.

2017 Club Pot-Luck Picnic & Mead Contest

The annual Lincoln Lagers Club Picnic will be held on Saturday, September 30th at 5PM. Our wonderful hosts Tim & Theresa Thomssen have invited us back again this year, so you know it’s gonna be a real party! This event is limited to our paid club members & their family members. Sorry, no guests.

Don’t forget about the annual Lincoln Lagers Mead Contest, held at the Picnic and judged by our lovely Lady Lagers! Bring one bottle (750mL or 22oz preferred) of your best and finest mead – Limited slots available, first-come first-entered, you snooze you lose, winner gets bragging rights!

If all goes according to plan, your 2017 Club Merchandise Orders will also be ready for pick-up! Come see Chris and get your sweet new swag!

October Club Meeting & Sower’s Cup Training

Our October 2017 club meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 4th at 6PM – in the Cafe at Turbine Flats, 2124 Y Street.  Parking is available in the lot immediately to the West of the building, on Y Street.

This will be a hands-on, education-heavy meeting! We will be experimenting with beer off-flavor tasting samples and will discuss flavors & exercise our Beer Judges’ palates!! Meanwhile, our stewards take will take a minute to prepare for their role in the 2017 Sower’s Cup Homebrew Competition, and go over stewarding procedures, competition rules, and so forth.

All club members are encouraged to attend & prepare for your role in the competition!! We need all hands on deck this year, whether you’re a National judge or you just want to help set up tables & serve food. Each and every one of you are a valuable part of our team!!

January Meeting & Pot Luck

Join us on Saturday, January 7th, 2017 at the home of Brian & Janet Allison as we celebrate the New Year with our annual tradition of good food, drink, and company.

Bring your finest pot-luck dish (any course!) and fun homebrews or rarities to share. Renew your membership, reserve your Stars hockey tickets, and find out who your 2017 club officers will be! More details soon.

Join us on Thursday, November 10th for our monthly club meeting! This month we’ll gather at Alpha Brewing Operations’ headquarters (map).

Social hour starts at 6 PM – We’ll kick off our meeting business a little early, around 7 PM, then it’s Mead Time, with our guest speaker, Brian Schlueter of Moonstruck Meadery in Bellevue.

This is a private homebrew club meeting, which is open to our club members and their family and/or personal guests. Inactive Lincoln Lagers club members from previous years are also welcome. Visitors are welcome by arrangement: If you’re a brand new visitor interested in attending your first club meeting, please email chris@lincolnlagers.com to let us know you’re coming in advance!

Join us on Saturday, November 5th for this year’s AHA Learn To Homebrew Day! We’ll be hanging out at Zipline Brewing Co., 2100 Magnum Cir., and this event doubles as our November social meet-up. Bring your friends or family who are curious about what homebrewing entails – maybe they’ll pick up the hobby too!

Brewers will arrive to unload & set up at Noon. We will kick off the demo at 12:30pm, and wrap it up around 3:30pm. The taproom will be open at Noon for your drinking enjoyment.

Come watch a live brewing demonstration done two ways – Patrick McCabe will be demonstrating an Extract brewing session, while Jeff Anderson shows off how to Brew In A Bag (BIAB) – where you can achieve the benefits of All Grain Brewing but with less equipment!

This year’s Sower’s Cup Homebrew Competition is rapidly approaching! If you have not already signed up, please go register as a steward, judge, or volunteer and help us make our third year of the competition another huge success! This year we’ve raised the entry cap to 500 – and we reached it!! We have a ton of work ahead of us, and we can’t do it without all of you!

“Movie Night”

This month, we’re going to relax and have some fun, since we have a lot of hard work coming up at The Sower’s Cup Homebrew Competition – so, we’ll put some brewing television up on the big screen for you to enjoy! Bring your lawn chairs and some homebrew! (We’ll let you know once we figure out what we’re going to watch.)

We’ll shoot to hold our business meeting right at 7:30pm sharp, and then we’ll hit Play around 7:45pm.

Join us for a sneak-peek at White Elm Brewing, who are nearing completion of their build and almost ready to open to the public!

This month, we’ll be tasting Brewers-In-Arms teams’ Nebraska Pale Ales – each brewed with Nebraska-grown hops including a variety of whole-leaf hops issued to them by the club, provided courtesy of Rhynalds Hops Growers. Bring your taste buds! Get ready to vote for your favorite beer!

The homebrew education topic this month will be 2015 BJCP Styles presented by Chris Evans.
