March Meeting at White Elm Brewing Company: Thursday, March 5, 2026

Join us Thursday, March 5, for the monthly meeting at White Elm Brewing Company, 720 Van Dorn St., Lincoln, NE 68502. Social hour at 6 p.m. and meeting at 7 p.m. We’ll be tasting the long awaited, much anticipated “Superb Ale Bowl” at this meeting; there will be voting from the fantasty draft brew sessions and prizes with the winner decided by the people’s choice. Oh, and bring some brew to share, will ya?!?

The club social will take place on Thursday, March 19, at Saro Cider, 1746 N St., Lincoln, NE 68508. Join us for a cider or two. No agenda, just cider!

Scott Schneider (Aug. 9, 1955 – Feb. 17, 2026)

Sad news to report: Long-time Lincoln Lager Scott Schneider passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, he was the son of Christian and Virginia Schneider. Scott married Jane Anderson in 1978, and they had two daughters, Ann and Lori. He worked for BNSF Railway for 40 years, making and maintaining many friendships, which he enjoyed after retirement.

A few highlights from his obituary: In addition to his love of homebrew, he played baseball in high school, carrying his knowledge and love for the game through the rest of his life. Some of his favorite pastimes included fishing, golfing, trying new recipes in his smoker, playing cribbage and other card games, and watching Husker sports. We will miss his sense of curiosity, humor, and steadfast love for family and friends. “Scotty” was one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.

Scott’s ‘Celebration of Life” will be held at noon on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Watering Hole East, 8300 Northwoods Dr., Lincoln, NE 68505. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes Scott to be remembered with donations to KZUM Radio and Tabitha Hospice.

Farewll Salute in Honor of LTC Matthew Misfledt

In April, Patriot Brewing Company’s Matt Misfeldt is leaving soon for an overseas deployment for the United States Army. The plan is to give hime a little going away party at Patriot Brewery. The event will take place over two days: Friday, March 20, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, March 21, 10-3 p.m. Please join us for a beer and the opportunity to wish Matt well and success in what is considered his last deployment of his military career.
