2026 Nebraska Shootout
The Nebraska Shootout is a BJCP-sanctioned homebrew competition hosted by Brewer Unterstützungs Verein (BUV), a homebrew club of the Omaha German-American Society. The competition welcomes brewers from across the region and is made possible by the dedication of our judges, stewards, volunteers, and sponsors. One new twist for the Shootout this year is the request for three bottles per entry. “The third bottle will be used for the Steward Best of Show. This is new this year and gives our stewards a larger part in the competition. Cheers!,” Scot Ahlers, competition organizer and head judge. This link here, provided by the BUV, “will serve as the official source for competition information, registration details, and updates as we approach the event.”

Kegs for the Cure – 17th Annual
Wait. What!? You aren’t familiar with Kegs for the Cure? It’s an American Cancer Society – Relay for Life fundraising event – with beer! It’s always a great experience sharing homebrew with the public. This year’s edition will take place from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at the Zipline Brewery, 2100 Magnum Cir, Ste #1, Lincoln, NE, 68522, way out on West O Street.
Time is running late for sharing and pouring your brew at the event, however, there’s plenty of time to get your tickets or just show up and donate at the door. If you have questions about participation, reach out to Gordon Coke, email, or check their website: Kegs for the Cure.
