June Meeting at White Elm Brewing Company: Thursday, June 4, 2026

Join us Thursday, June 4, for the monthly meeting at White Elm Brewing Company, 720 Van Dorn St., Lincoln, NE 68502. Social hour at 6 p.m. and meeting at 7 p.m. Bring some brew to share, will ya?!? Yes. You can bring homebrew. Then, in July, we’ll do it again on July 2 at White Elm.

The June club social will take place on Thursday, June 18, at the Patriot Brewery & Homebrew Supplies, 2929 N. 204th St., #107, Elkhorn, NE 68003, 402-991-6655. Please join us, won’t you? No agenda, just beer… and homebrew supplies! You know you need some more ingredients!

2026 Nebraska Shootout

The Nebraska Shootout is a friendly statewide competition where Nebraska brew clubs compete for the traveling trophy and homebrewing bragging rights. We look forward to another great event celebrating our state’s homebrewing community! The 2026 Nebraska Shootout homebrew competition will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Kros Strain Brewing Co., La Vista, Nebraska, hosted by the BUV Homebrew Club.

Competition Styles for 2026:

1. Categories 4 and 5 – Pale Malty European Lager and Pale Bitter European Beer
4A – Munich Helles
4B – Festbier
4C – Helles Bock
5A – German Leichtbier
5B – Kolsch
5C – German Helles Exportbier
5D – German Pils

2. Categories 18 and 19 – Pale American Ale and Amber/Brown American Beer
18A – Blonde Ale
18B – American Pale Ale
19A – American Amber Ale
19B – California Common
19C – American Brown Ale

3. Category 26 – Monastic Ale
26A – Belgian Single
26B – Belgian Dubbel
26C – Belgian Tripel
26D – Belgian Dark Strong Ale

4. Category 27 – Historical Beers
27A – Kellerbier
27A – Kentucky Common
27A – Lichtenhainer
27A – London Brown Ale
27A – Piwo Grodziske
27A – Pre-Prohibition Lager

Kegs for the Cure – 17th Annual

Wait. What!? You aren’t familiar with Kegs for the Cure? It’s an American Cancer Society – Relay for Life fundraising event – with beer! It’s always a great experience sharing homebrew with the public. This year’s edition will take place from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at the Zipline Brewery, 2100 Magnum Cir, Ste #1, Lincoln, NE, 68522, way out on West O Street.

Time is running late for sharing and pouring your brew at the event, however, there’s plenty of time to get your tickets or just show up and donate at the door. If you have questions about participation, reach out to Gordon Coke, email, or check their website: Kegs for the Cure.
